The Nathan and Theresa Berman Upper Midwest Jewish Archives (UMJA) located within the Social Welfare Archives suite at the University of Minnesota's Elmer L. Andersen Library contain the most important archival holdings of the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest (JHSUM). The JHSUM was founded in 1984, and its mission is to promote the vitality and continuity of Jewish culture in the upper Midwest through preservation, interpretation and education.
