Amos Deinard Collection Boxes 77-80
Records, 3 1/2 linear feet. Also includes clippings, photos, and charts.
Provenance: donated by son Dr. Amos Deinard
Amos Deinard was born in Minneapolis in 1898 the son of Rabbi Samuel and Rosa Deinard. He was a graduate of West High School, a Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Minnesota, and received his J. D. at Harvard University. Deinard was a devoted public servant and sat on many boards in the Jewish and the general communities. He was a founder of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and served as president from 1935-40. He also served on the Minneapolis Fair Employment Practices Commission, and the Minnesota Society for the Prevention of Blindness. He died in 1985.
The collection is divided into the following parts:
Personal Papers: Documenting the Minneapolis Reform Jewish community in which he grew up.
Organizational Papers: Containing materials concerning MFJS, local, national, and international Jewish agencies. HAVE TO HAVE FOLDER NUMBERS WITHIN BOX DESCRIPTIONS. BRING UP BOXES
