Summary Note: This autobiography chronicles the childhood and early adulthood in Russia of Rachel Bella, her arranged marriage with Abe Calof, her meeting him in NewYork, and her impressions of his family and the farm they homesteaded near Devil's Lake, North Dakota. She chronicles extensively her life on the farm and the birth of her children as well as her relations with Abe's family. The dates are roughly 1880-1917.
