Finding aids are online guides to the collections in the University Archives.

Search all finding aids for the archives & special collections at the University of Minnesota.

Many of the faculty papers, departmental records and alumni collections have finding aids, or inventories, that provide information about their contents. They can be accessed by using the following tools:

The University Library’s on-line catalog MNCAT at http://www.lib.umn.edu/ describes various collections held in University Archives.

Online at http://discover.lib.umn.edu/findaid/ , a website capable of searching across finding aids not only in University Archives but in other archives and special collections held at the University of Minnesota.

Paper copies of finding aids available in University Archives.  Descriptions for many collections that are not available on-line may be available in print format.
