The Tretter Collection is covered under the 501(3)(c) status of the University of Minnesota library system.
Thus your donations to the collection are tax deductible. You can make your check payable to:

This also means that you can donate to the Tretter Collection via charitable fund drives such as Community Solutions Fund or The United way. Many of
these funding systems allow your contribution to be allocated to specific organizations,
even ones not listed in their brochures. Contact Mike Welch for more information on donating via these funding organizations.
Regardless of how you actually donate funds, you can do directed giving by specifying that your donation be earmarked for a particular use such as:
- Acquisitions budget
- Operations budget
- Community outreach budget
- A special project
- A special acquisition

Unspecified donations will be used wherever the need is greatest within the Tretter Collection. However, rest assured that funds donated to the Tretter Collection are used only for the Tretter Collection! They cannot be tapped by other departments or reallocated into the general University budget.
