Notes:

This cone is one of at least 142 known exemplars of a version of Sîn-kšid's inscription commemorating the construction of his palace; its text varies from that of the tablet UM 13 only in the addition of the king's epithet "provider of the Eanna (temple)." It is registered by D. Frayne as exemplar no. 45 of inscription RIME 4.4.1.4, but is actually an exemplar of RIME 4.4.1.3. On the archaeological context of those exemplars which were recovered in excavations, see the notes on UM 13. (The surface of this cone was pierced in one spot by, it appears, a fragment of reed, perhaps from the reed mats within which it was once laid; this was observed by Torger Vedeler.) Frayne's translation of the text is followed here.

Rulings demarcate the lines of text and the perimeter of the cone's base. One-third of the space on the cone is blank.
