		<head>Biographical Sketch of Elaine H. Asp (b. 1927)</head> 
		<p>Elaine H. Asp, B.S. (1949), M.S. (1951), Ph.D. (1979) University of
		  Minnesota. Instructor (1950-1954, 1960-1972), Food Division College of Home
		  Economics; Instructor (1972-1978), assistant professor (1978-1985), associate
		  professor (1985-1999), Department of Food Science and Nutrition at the
		  University of Minnesota. </p> 
		<p>Elaine H. Asp was born on September 12, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
		  She earned a B.S. (1949), M.S. (1951), and Ph.D. (1979) from the University of
		  Minnesota.. She was a faculty member at the University of Minnesota for over 48
		  years teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in food marketing, food
		  selection and decision making, scientific methods of food preparation and
		  experimental foods. Her research was primarily in the cereal area studying
		  flour, starch and protein in dough bread. Elaine Asp retired as associate
		  professor emeritus in 1999.</p>
