The Minnesota Society for Clinical Social Work (MSCSW) was founded in 1978 to promote the practice and advancement of clinical social work. MSCSW is a member of the Clinical Social Work Federation. MSCSW allows clinical social workers in Minnesota to network, supports legislation for ethical social work practices, hosts and supports professional and continuing education opportunities, and establishes a code of professional ethics.
The records contain correspondence, administrative files, and meeting files for the Minnesota Society for Clinical Social Work (MSCSW). In addition to materials on or about MSCSW, the collection includes materials regarding other social work organizations, including National Federation of Societies for Clinical Social Work (NFSCSW), American Foundation for Research and Consumer Education in Social Work Regulation, Council of the Economic Status of Women, and Mental Health Association of Minnesota. In particular, the records document MSCSW's effort to promote licensing of social workers in the state.
