		<p>The collection is organized into 10 series: General Correspondence,
		  Foreign Travel-Correspondence, Foreign Travel-Publications, Lectures and

		  Corrigan, Writings about Robert Corrigan, Plays and Projects, and
		  Miscellaneous. </p>

		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>Robert W. Corrigan was born on September 23, 1927. He received his
		  B.A. degree from Cornell University in 1950, his M.A. degree from Johns Hopkins
		  University in 1952 and his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1955. His
		  academic career spanned over 40 years. He was an instructor and professor of
		  drama, theatre, classics, performing arts and dramatic literature at over 10
		  colleges and universities, including John Hopkins University, the University of
		  Minnesota, Tulane University and the University of Michigan. Professor Corrigan
		  also served as Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of
		  Texas at Dallas and of the School of the Arts of Dramatic Literature at New
		  York University. He began, and edited <emph render="italic">The Drama
		  Review</emph> (TDR), a journal publication of dramatic theatre when he was an
		  assistant professor at Carleton College. The publication was known as the
		  Carleton Drama Review until Professor Corrigan went to Tulane. The journal
		  traveled with him and became known as <emph render="italic">The Tulane Drama
		  Review</emph>, later shortened to <emph render="italic">The Drama
		  Review</emph>. Professor Corrigan was a prolific writer, authoring over 100
		  articles, essays, reviews and books on theatre and the arts. Professor Corrigan
		  passed away in 1993. </p>
