The Chimera Theatre Company succeeded the Eastside Theater in 1970 as
a community theater of St. Paul. It was founded by James D. Borland Jr. and
Scott McCoy, both of whom worked for the Eastside Theater. The company's first
plays were held during the summer of 1970 at the Saint Paul Academy auditorium.
The theater offered teacher and student workshops annually for the local
community. The company ended production in 1987.
