William Fuson Davidson, who has been called "St. Paul’s most successful playwright," was the author of many commercially successful plays. He was born on January 9, 1897 in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from Harvard University in 1920. Mr. Davidson was a successful businessman in St. Paul, founding the Davidson-Baker company with Lee Baker. His play writing career began as a cure for his insomnia.
The collection includes William Davidson’s correspondence (1934-1975), royalty statements (1937-1983), several biographical sketches, clippings and reviews, photographs of play productions, ten scripts, and published editions of 30 of William Davidson's plays, including "Bachelor Father," "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," "Room for One More" and "Three to Get Married."
