		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>John H. Wheeler was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1871. He attended
		  the College of St. Thomas (St. Paul), after which he worked in various
		  architectural offices in the Twin Cities for 14 years, including seven years in
		  the office of Clarence H. Johnston. In 1901-1902, Wheeler was in charge of the
		  Building Inspection Department of St. Paul, and in 1902, he opened a private
		  practice that he maintained for the rest of his life. He specialized in
		  designing buildings - churches, schools, rectories, convents and chapels, for
		  the Catholic Church. John Wheeler died in 1958. </p>

		<p>The collection comprises one set of xerox on vellum plans for
		  alterations &amp; improvements to the Howard Wheeler residence (226 Grotto St.,
		  St. Paul, Minnesota) including elevations, plans, and details for the house,
		  together with plans for retaining walls and grounds and a planting list for the
		  grounds by J. A. Jensen, landscape architect and John Wheeler, architect.</p>
