		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>George Emile Bertrand was born on June 22, 1859 in Superior,
		  Wisconsin. He was educated in Boston and Minneapolis and began practicing
		  professionally in 1881. He established an architectural firm in Minneapolis in
		  1886 and formed a partnership with Walter Keith in 1890. This partnership
		  lasted until 1894 and in 1897 Bertrand partnered with Arthur B. Chamberlin. The
		  firm of Bertrand &amp; Chamberlin was active until the death of George Bertrand
		  on October 31, 1931.</p> 
		<p>Arthur Bishop Chamberlin was born in Solon, Ohio on March 12, 1865. He
		  worked as a draftsman in Minneapolis from 1884-1889 and relocated to Seattle in
		  1890. There he worked as a draftsman and delineator for Saunders &amp; Houghton
		  (1890-1891), John Parkinson (1891-1893), William Boone (1893), and practiced as
		  an architect from 1893-1894. Chamberlin returned to Minneapolis in 1896 and
		  partnered with George Bertrand in 1897. Arthur Chamberlin died on September 28,
		  1933. </p>

		<head>Scope and Content Note</head> 
		<p>The collection contains blueprints for the Chamber of Commerce office
		  building in Minneapolis (1928), the Minneapolis Athletic Club (1913), the
		  Orchard Lake School addition in Burnsville, Minnesota (1922), the School of
		  Incarnation in Minneapolis (1929) and the State Bank of Commerce in Minneapolis
		  (1921). </p>
