		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>Carl Betcher was a developer and contractor of tract housing in the
		  Twin Cities during the 1930s and 1940s. During his career, he collaborated with
		  other professionals in the building trades, such as Robert R. Betcher, builder
		  L.L. Lawson, architects Every Carlson and Charles A. Lawrence, and draftsmen
		  Robert B. Coss and Richard W. Cathcart. </p>

		<head>Scope and Content Note</head> 
		<p>The papers contain blueprints for approximately 125 residences, most
		  of which are undated and only partially identified. The majority of the
		  buildings were probably built in Minneapolis and St. Paul on speculation.</p>
