Biographical Note

Mary Slattery Stolz was born in 1920 in Boston, Massachusetts. She attended Columbia University from 1936 to 1938 and early displayed an interested in history and literature. She married, had a child, and began writing in the late 1940s when chronic pain confined her to home. Her first published novel was To Tell Your Love (1950). Most of Stolz's books are fiction written for children and teenagers, many of which received honors and awards.
