		<p>Materials are open to research without restriction except for portions
		  designated as restricted, confidential, or sealed. For the latter material,
		  prior permission in writing from the President of the Minnesota Orchestral
		  Association is required. </p> 
		<p>Permission to examine this collection will be granted to any qualified
		  researcher upon completion of an application form. The original documents do
		  not circulate and may only be used in the Reading Room of the Manuscripts
		  Division.</p>

		<p>The collection is organized chronologically.</p>

		<head>Historical Note</head> 
		<p>Early Orchestra Manager (and cellist and program annotator], 
		  <persname>Carlo Fischer</persname>, may be responsible for collecting
		  clippings in the first decade of the Orchestra. From 1906 through the mid
		  1960s, most clippings were pasted into Orchestra scrapbooks (Series 9.1). After
		  that time, the clippings were filed by subject in file folders.</p>

		<head>Scope and Content Note</head>
		<p>The collection includes newspaper and magazine articles about the
		  Minnesota Orchestra, its conductors and music directors, musicians and staff,
		  and reviews of performances. Most of them are arranged by topic within the span
		  of each season.</p>
		<p> Due to the acidic nature of the newsprint, Archives staff are
		  photocopying articles on acid-free paper. The first group of clippings are
		  organized in document cases (numbered consecutively] and are stored in the
		  Mezzanine. </p>
		<p>Clippings from 1977 to the present are filed in record center cartons,
		  are temporarily labeled, and are stored in Zone B. </p>
