Materials are open to research without restriction except for portions designated as restricted, confidential, or sealed. For the latter material, prior permission in writing from the President of the Minnesota Orchestral Association is required.

Permission to examine this collection will be granted to any qualified researcher upon completion of an application form. The original documents do not circulate and may only be used in the Reading Room of the Manuscripts Division.

Marilyn Nelson and Luella Goldberg chaired the 75th Anniversary Committee. Mary Leary, Special Projects Coordinator, and Mary Ann Feldman, Staff Administrator, Composers Competition, were Orchestra staff involved. The celebratory book, Ovation, was written by Barbara Flanagan.

 Scope and Content Note

This collection documents the series of events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Minnesota Orchestra. Two activities that are extensively documented are the Composers Competition, won by William T. McKinley, and the fund raising and publication of the book, Ovation.

The slide show produced for the celebration, 75 Years of Music, was transferred to Series 11.5
