<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>An engineer, Omelan Mykhailo Tyshovnytskyi (1899- ) was born in Huta Bojaniwska, Poland. He served with the Austrian Army 1917-1918, and in the Ukrainian army from 1918-1920. He was educated in Krakow and worked in Ukraine, Poland, and Germany before coming to the United States after WWII. In the United States, he worked for the Texas State Highway Department, and the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers. Tyshovnytskyi took an active interest in Ukrainian American cultural afairs in the Los Angeles, California, area.</p>
