Biographical/Historical Note

Following the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, almost eighty-five per cent of the student body of Sopron School of Forestry and fifty per cent of the staff escaped to Austria. Many immigrated from there to British Columbia, where lectures were resumed, in Hungarian, at the University of British Columbia. Most graduates of the School settled in Canada, and the United States, and found work in the fields of forestry and engineering.
