Biographical/Historical Note

Jedinstvo was founded in 1920 when two lodges split from the group Sloga. Jedinstvo was formed by the groups Srpsko Drustvo Jedinstvo (Chicago), Srpsko Drustvo Sveti Sava (Cleveland) and Srpsko Drustvo Jedinstvo (Los Angeles). The other group organized as Srpski Savez Svesna Srbadija, with headquarters in New York City. Jedinstvo was a social, educational and mutual benefit society. In 1963, it merged with the Serb National Federation.
