<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>Sebastian Papagno was a resident of Quincy, Mass. He joined the Order Sons of Italy in America Quincy Lodge No. 1295 in 1947 and served as Grand Trustee (1973-1975), Grand Financial Secretary (1975-1977), and Grand Orator (1979-1981). He also served as Supreme Trustee, and participated in a number of Supreme Lodge and Massachusetts Grand Lodge committees.</p>

<head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>Papers of Sebastian Papagno (1972-1987) consist of materials pertaining to national, state, and local Order Sons of Italy in America organizations. Also included is biographical material. OSIA records consist of national fund-raising raffle reports; a state resolution of appreciation to Papagno and national fund-raising raffle reports; and materials pertaining to OSIA Quincy No. 1295 dinner for Papagno and an award honoring him as Man of the Year, 1979. Also included is a clipping from OSIA Canton Men's No. 2462 (Mass.), and photographs of grand and local OSIA lodge functions. Biographical materials include a summary of OSIA accomplishments, a Muscular Dystrophy Association Citation of Merit, and a Commonwealth of Massachusetts Official Citation.</p>
