<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>The Polish American Congress (PAC), a cultural, political, and social organization, was founded in 1944. Its major purpose is to promote the Polish culture and image and to sponsor social and cultural activities that will unite Polish-Americans. The PAC publishes Polish American Congress Newsletter.</p>

<head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>Records (1944-1972) of the Polish American Congress, Inc., Illinois Division, consist of correspondence, minutes, financial records, files dealing with Polish immigration matters, and correspondence of the Compensation Committee of the PAC re compensations for Poles who were in German labor or prision camps during WWII. Also included are donor lists, membership lists, information on American citizens in Poland and on naturalized Poles, Illinois statutes and regulations, and photographs.</p>
