Biographical/Historical Note

A case worker with Russian immigrants, Kyra Malkovsky (1894- ) was born in Minsk and came to the United States in 1917. After five years as an employee of the Russian embassy in New York, she began a long career as a social worker with the International Institute of New York City. She also was co-founder in 1925 of the Children's Welfare Society, and worked for the Tolstoy Foundation in Austria, Rome, Italy, and the United States.

Scope and Content

Papers (1939-1949) of Kyra Malkovsky (1894- ) comprise journals, case work and statistical reports, photographs, and other materials of the International Institute of New York City, miscellaneous correspondence, publications, and materials pertaining to the YWCA Summer School at Fletcher Farm (Proctorville, Vermont).
