<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>A Ukrainian priest and former officer of the Ukrainian Galician Army, Rev. Vladimir Klodnycky (1891-1973) came to the United States in 1925 and was ordained an Eastern Orthodox priest in 1930. He served as pastor of churches in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He also edited the monthly journal Restoration, and was active in Ukrainian American affairs and political life.</p>

<head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>Papers (1917-1973) of Rev. Vladimir Klodnycky (1891-1973) consist of correspondence, diaries, awards, copies of articles, newspaper clippings, and photographs. Correspondents and topics include the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension (Newark, N.J.), the Ukrainian-American Citizens League of New Jersey, Inc., the Ukrainian National Association, the Ukrainian Greek-Orthodox Church of Canada, the Ukrainian Central Relief Association in Osterreich, the Ukrainian War Historical Institute (Toronto, Ontario), the United Ukrainian American Organizations, the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai Brith, the Orthodox Eastern Church, Ukrainian in the United States and Germany, Senator H. Alexander Smith (N.J.), Elizabeth Wherry, Administrative Asst., U.S. Senate, Luke Myshuka, W. Warren Barbours (N.J.), Archbishop John Theodorvych of the Ukrainian</p><p>Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the United States, and Klodnycky's brother Joseph Klodnycky, as well as other clergy and political figures. Topics include, in addition to some of the above, Ukrainian-Jewish and Ukrainian-Polish relations, and Ukrainians in New Jersey.</p>
