<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>The Immigration History Society was organized in 1965 "to promote the study of the history of immigration to the United States and Canada from all parts of the world..." Its membership is comprised mainly of academic specialists in the field of immigration history. It publishes the semi-annual Immigration History Newsletter and organizes sessions on programs for scholarly conferences, among other activities.</p>
