<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>Mykola Haydak (1898-1971) came to the United States from Ukraine in 1930. He received his Ph.D. in entomology with a specialty in bee culture from the University of Wisconsin and then taught at the University of Minnesota. His research interests focused on bee biology and physiology and the nutritional values of honey. He published extensively in these fields and belonged to many professional societies.</p>

<p>Papers of Mykola H. Haydak (1898-1971), mostly in Ukrainian and English, include correspondence; materials pertaining to the Ukrainian Folk Ballet in the Twin Cities, Minn.; a collection of Ukrainian Christmas and Easter cards; and materials about Ukrainian immigrants, the Slavonic Encyclopedia, and Ukrainian-Jewish relations. Correspondents include Haydak's mother, Anna Haydak; his father, Hryhorii Haydak; Ivan Haydak; Mykola Nebesenko; Simon M.
