<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>Roberto Ferrari (b. 1886) was born in Salerno, Italy, and came to the United States with his family. He completed his education in New York, receiving a law degree from Columbia University in 1910. In addition to practicing law, Ferrari was a lecturer for the Scholastic Council of New York, taught criminology at New York University, was a travelling fellow in the Columbia University Law School, and assistant director for the journal Criminal Law and Criminology. He also taught at John Marshall College of Law in New York and at the University of Paris. His prolific writings on law appeared in numerous legal journals.</p>

<p>Papers (1912-1965) of Italian American lawyer Robert Ferrari (b. 1886) include correspondence; drafts of his autobiography; articles on law; and other works and miscellaneous maps, tourist brochures, and travel guides pertaining to Italy and the United States.</p>
