<head>Biographical/Historical Note</head>
<p>Amerigo De Martinis (1899-1969) was born in Philadelphia, son of immigrants from Chieti, Abruzzi, Italy. He was educated at the Temple University School of Commerce and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as a bank examiner for the State of Pennsylvania and later formed his own accounting firm. De Martinis served the Order Sons of Italy in America as venerable of Guglielmo Oberdan Lodge No. 495 (1927-1943), Supreme Delegate and member of the Supreme Arbitration Committee (1941-1943), Supreme Trustee (1943-1945), Supreme Recording Secretary (1946-1957), and Supreme Financial Secretary (1957-1969).</p>

<head>Scope and Content</head>
<p>Papers (ca. 1927-1988) of Amerigo A. De Martinis consist of a biographical sketch; two photographs of him; a certificate of Stella della Solidarieta Italian; a certificate of recognition from the OSIA New Jersey Grand Lodge; and photographs of the North Italy Social Club, mortgage burning, and the Men of Malvern, as well as miscellaneous newspaper clippings.</p>
