		<head>Biographical Note</head> 
		<p>
		  <persname>Harry D. Maddy</persname> was a violinist with the 
		  <corpname>Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra</corpname> during Obehoffer’s
		  tenure. His son-in-law,
		  <persname> Rhadames John Angelucci</persname>, was oboist with the
		  Orchestra for over 40 years. “Johnny” was hired in 1936 as an English horn
		  player, but soon moved to his preferred instrument, the oboe, and in 1938
		  Dimitri Mitropoulos made him principal oboist for the Orchestra, a position he
		  retained until his retirement in 1980.</p>

		<head>Scope and Content Note</head>
		<p>The collection contains memorabilia collected by Maddy and Angelucci
		  during almost sixty years in the Minnesota Orchestra. Included in the
		  collection are photographs, extensive newspaper clippings (mainly reviews of
		  Angelucci’s solo performances with the Orchestra), clippings and memorabilia
		  from the Orchestra’s 1947 tour to the Near East, an extensive collection of
		  tour itineraries, and various programs and brochures relating to Orchestra
		  activities. Notable items include a booklet published by the Minneapolis
		  Symphony Orchestra for the 1914-15 season: “
		<title>Beethoven’s Nine Symphonies</title>” and an interview of Angelucci
		about 
		<persname>Dimitri Mitropoulos</persname>.</p>
		<p>The collection documents Angelucci’s career and those experiences that
		  he and his father-in-law found most significant in their tenures with the
		  Orchestra.</p>
