Biographical Sketch

John Hassler was born March 30, 1933, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Leo Blaise and Ellen (Callinan) Hassler. In August 1956 he married Marie Schmitt. They have three children, Michael, Elizabeth, David. Hassler received a B.A. in 1956 from St. John's University, Collegeville, MN and an M.A. from the University of North Dakota in 1960. His writings have been mainly directed toward an adult audience, but he has written two young adult fiction works.
