		  Sketch</emph></head> 
		<p>James McCrea was born September 12, 1920, in Peoria, Ill. Ruth
		  (Pirman) McCrea was born May 28, 1921, in Jersey City, NJ. They met in art
		  school, and were married shortly thereafter. They have worked together as
		  writers, designers, and illustrators ever since. They operate their own press,
		  The Little Press, from the basement of their own home. Their published writing
		  (as of 1972) was for children's books, although they think of their stories as
		  being for human beings of all ages. </p>
