Biographical
Sketch
Joyce Hansen was born October 18, 1942 in New York. She married
Matthew Nelson December 18, 1982. In 1973 she began a career as a teacher of
reading and language arts. Her first book, The
Gift-Giver was published in 1980. She has published ten books, seven
children's fiction and three children's nonfiction, the most recent from 1998.
