Biographical
Sketch
Doris Greenberg was born January 29, 1924, in New York, NY. She
attended Goucher College for two years and received a B. A. from New York
University in 1943. She married Harold Faber, a writer and editor for the
New York Times, in 1951. Before starting to write
books, she worked for eight years as a reporter for the same newspaper. Whether
written on her own or with her husband, Doris Faber's books have been praised
for the clarity and vivacity with which they introduce middle readers and young
adults to important figures and issues in history, science, and politics.
