Aaron Judah was born October 19, 1923, in Bombay, India. His main
career was physiotherapy and writing. His adult novels are characterized by
sensitivity and humor, while his writings for children illustrate a variety or
morals in a simple and direct manner. His animal characters frequently
represent virtues or vices, such as the wily fox, selfish camel, or
well-educated owl. Judah deplores what he sees as a decline in the level of
writing, and blames television for playing a major part in what today would be
called the dumbing-down of literature.
