		<head altrender="history"><emph render="bold">Biographical
		  Sketch</emph></head> 
		<p>Arthur M. Dorros (pronounced doh-rohs) was born May 19, 1950 in
		  Washington D.C. He was educated at the University of Wisconsin and Pacific Oaks
		  College. After working at various jobs he became a writer of both fiction and
		  non-fiction, and an illustrator, receiving numerous awards for his work. He has
		  written several bilingual (English/Spanish) books, beginning with
		  <emph render="italic">Abuela</emph> and <emph render="italic">Tonight is
		  Carnaval</emph>. Non-fiction works include <emph render="italic">Ant
		  Cities</emph>, which describes how ants live and work together, and
		  <emph render="italic">This is My House</emph>, which describes 22 houses around
		  the world, their milieu, and the people who live in them. </p>
