Biographical Sketch

George A. Woods was born on January 26, 1926 in Lake Placid, New York. He was a children's book editor for the New York Times from 1963 to 1984. He also worked for the New York Times Book Review and New York Times Large Type Weekly. He is the author of two children's books, published in the 1970s. His book, Catch a Killer, won the 1974 Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award. George Woods died on August 11, 1988.
