Biographical
Sketch
Joan Sandin was born April 30, 1942, in Watertown, Wisconsin. She
became an author, illustrator, and translator, of children's books, and has
received a number of honors and awards for her work. She enjoys working with
folk tales and with books demanding research or travel. She has traveled
extensively, and lived in Sweden for 10 years before returning to the United
