<bioghist encodinganalog="545" id="hb"><head altrender="history"><emph render="bold">Biographical Sketch</emph></head><p>Caroline Arnold was born May 16, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA. Her higher education peppered the entirety of the US, ranging from Grinnell College in Iowa, the Art Students League of New York in New York to the University of California in Los Angeles. This trend was also seen in her early employment history. From a substitute teacher to a laboratory technician to a freelance artist, Arnold has a wide breadth of experience as inspiration for her writing. Her first book was published in 1980 and from there published well over a hundred non-fiction writings, "Nature Watch" series, "Animal Favorites" series, "Community" series, "Easy Read Geography Activity Book" series, "Zoo Animal" series and miscellaneous titles. Arnold has been praised as "a versatile and ever-curious writer, dissecting and explaining complex social and scientific themes for young readers". The awards attached to her name are endless, as she continues to make great strides in the children's literature genre. </p><p>Biographical source: <emph render="italic">Something About the Author</emph>.
