		<head altrender="history"><emph render="bold">Biographical
		  Sketch</emph></head> 
		<p>Ursula Martha Arndt was born in Duesseldorf, Germany, where she
		  attended the Academy of Arts from 1942-1947. A free-lance artist and
		  illustrator, Arndt illustrated over fifteen books, mostly in children's
		  literature from 1964 onward. Arndt is most widely know for her collaboration
		  with Edna Berth on their holiday symbol series, offering children a brighter
		  picture on the Easter, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's, St. Patrick's Day and
		  Thanksgiving representations. Three appear in this collection.</p>
