		  Sketch</emph></head> 
		<p>Gerry Breen Armstrong was born October 28, 1929, in Detroit, MI. In
		  1954 she married George Armstrong, an illustrator, whom she would collaborate
		  with on both folk music performance and children's literature. Armstrong
		  writes, "I'm not sure if I'm a singer who also writes or a storyteller who also
		  sings." Her first writing was published in 1964, which is featured in this
		  collection.</p>
