Born in 1947, David Adler has left a marked impression on the field of
children's literature ever since the publishing of his first book in 1976.
Educated at Queens College of the City University of New York and New York
University (completing his MBA in 1971), Adler began as a math teacher until
1977 when he took on writing full time. This list of societies Adler belongs to
and the awards he has received practically equates the number of books he has
written on topics from picture books to riddle books, biographies to adventure
series, and library of nonfiction material. Adler's works have been translated
into many languages - Swedish, Danish, Dutch, Spanish, Hebrew, Japanese,
Chinese, German and Braille - making a global contribution to children's
literature.
