Biographical Sketch

Marianne Olson Mitchell was born June 7, 1947, in Phoenix, AZ. She married James C. Mitchell. She taught elementary education, and later became a lecturer in Spanish at the U. of Louisville, KY. Her writing career developed out of her career in elementary teaching. Growing up in Arizona she became bi-lingual in English and Spanish. She also learned what she calls cowboy talk, and that also has helped to put realism into her writings. She has received several honors and awards for her writing.
