		  Sketch</emph></head> 
		<p> Sidney Offit was born October 13, 1928, in Baltimore, MD. He has held
		  a number of jobs in the book publishing industry, began free lance writing in
		  1954, and began teaching creative writing in 1964. He says that most of his
		  books for young readers were written for his own two sons, and are either
		  autobiographical, or pure fantasy. He has also written books with his wife in
		  mind.</p>
