		<p>Noted children's author, Beverly Cleary, was born in McMinnville,
		  Oregon in 1916. She attended the University of California at Berkley and the
		  University of Washington. She worked as a librarian until she began her career
		  as a writer in 1950. She has won numerous awards for her books, notably the
		  Ramona books.</p>
