However, she has spent most of her life in Wales, where her family has roots going back to the middle nineteenth century. She became an English teacher, and Justice of the Peace, as well as an author of children's books. Family roots, and personal development, are important to her, and this is reflected in her books, where plot is oftne subordinate the development of her characters.
