Lawrence Bewley earned a BS in Electrical Engineering in 1953 from the University of California He started working at Consolidated Engineering Corporation that same year. He continued in Schematics, working with ElectroData before and after it was acquired as a division of Burroughs Corporation in 1956. He became Project Manager for the Burroughs 220 computer in August, 1958.
Bewley's project files are arranged in four series. The Burroughs 220 Computer series is the bulk of the collection and includes schematics for power supply and project activity reports. The Burroughs 205 Computer series documents his work on this project and the Cardatron series documents his work on this card converter intended to function with IBM equipment. The General Project Files series includes information not directly related to the three specific projects.
